Josh Welland joined Sugar Hollow Solar in 2025 as a Solar Craftsperson, motivated by a strong interest in sustainable energy and the opportunity to work within a positive, team-oriented environment. Before joining SHS, he gained experience as a salesperson for home hardware and lighting fixtures, as well as a luxury automotive detailer. In his role, Josh focuses on the precise installation of solar systems, including measuring, mounting, and securing racking based on project plans. Known for his wit, perseverance, and openness to thoughtful conversation, he brings determination and a “the day is not over until the job is done” mindset to every project. A graduate of West Virginia University, Josh enjoys adventure sports such as hiking and surfing, along with building and operating large-scale remote-control models powered by combustion engines or batteries. Passionate about helping communities move away from fossil fuels, he is excited to spread awareness and expand the use of home solar and battery systems as sustainable energy solutions.
