Rate of Pay: $20-$22/HR

Sugar Hollow Solar is hiring a brand new Warehouse Assistant! Our Warehouse Assistant supports the Sugar Hollow Solar Purchasing & Warehouse Manager, and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations within a warehouse, ensuring smooth handling, storage and distribution of materials. This role is responsible for receiving, storing and preparing materials for use in installation. In addition, this role is responsible for assisting in our vehicle fleet management and service.
Our ideal candidate brings a basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control, is a solid communicator and well-organized and believes in the power of renewable energy!

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinates with construction to obtain appropriate instructions to pack out upcoming jobs prior to start dates
Prepares each upcoming job’s materials labeling materials correctly, utilizing the internal purchase order
Receives arriving material orders and ensures they are unpacked, organized and stored properly
Reviews received orders invoicing for accuracy
Disposes of extraneous packing material
Inspects arriving materials for quality and order accuracy, and is responsible for managing returns of subpar or incorrect materials
Assigns and reassigns crew vehicles as needed
Takes a proactive approach to managing the fleet by staying on a consistent maintenance schedule and accurately recording vehicle maintenance and repairs
Keeps the Director of Operations and the Construction Manager informed about routine vehicle fleet maintenance schedules and needs
Engages with field crews about off-cycle vehicle maintenance needs and is responsible for scheduling needed maintenance in a timely manner
Conducts weekly inventory of tools and materials
Maintains tool tracking system
Ensures a neat, orderly and clean warehouse, and is responsible for managing access to the warehouse
Manages regular trash and recycling pickup for the facility
Manages quarterly and as-needed metals recycling for the facility
Qualifications
Valid driver license required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience operating a forklift preferred
Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in a warehouse setting preferred
Proficient in utilizing generally accepted business software (Google Workspace/CRMS)
Experience in the solar industry a plus
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control
Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Physical stamina to lift heavy packages and stand for extended periods
Strong attention to detail
