As winter melts away, and the heated months of summer creep in, spring is the perfect time for a seasonal system check. Using our checklist, you can tackle pollen, leaves, and debris that may reduce efficiency, while preparing your systems for optimal performance going into sunnier days.

1. Trim Surrounding Branches

Prevent new spring growth from shading your array and reducing panel production. Look for branches that could grow over or near your system. Trimming not only improves the health of your trees, but also reduces the risk of panel damage and maintenance down the line.

2. Review System Production

Compare your output to previous months using your monitoring system. Look for unexpected drops in solar generation, erratic inverter readings, sudden declines in battery charge levels, or red lights on your equipment; these can indicate potential issues that should be addressed before peak production season.

3. Check for Animal Activity

Small animals can cause big problems if left unchecked. Sometimes, squirrels, birds, or critters consistently around your panels may indicate chewed wiring, or nesting under your array. If you suspect there are critters gathering under your array, we can help you check and determine if you need to contact a wildlife removal company near you.

4. Inspect for Heavy Pollen

Heavy debris and pollen buildup can affect performance. A regular cleaning of your panels can help prevent lost performance.
