Sugar Hollow Solar is hiring a brand new Service Technician Assistant! Our Service Technician Assistant supports Sugar Hollow Solar Service Technicians with the primary responsibility of assisting with maintaining the performance of solar systems, while providing excellence in customer service. This role involves working with the service technician to ensure that systems are operational and performing optimally. The role assists in diagnosing and repairing issues, ensuring safety compliance and contributing to the successful operation of solar energy systems. In addition, this role is the primary point person for service-related warehouse inventory.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists with the maintenance, inspection, cleaning and repair of solar panel systems (both residential and commercial)

• Inspects and troubleshoots solar energy systems to identify performance issues or faults

• Tests, repairs and replaces malfunctioning components (inverters, wiring, panels, etc.)

• Communicates with customers to explain service procedures and provide updates on system performance

• Ensures safety protocols and Sugar Hollow Solar standards are followed.

• Maintains accurate records of inspections, services performed and parts used

• Completes service department inventory, systematically counting and verifying each part in stock, updates records with accurate quantities, and ensures all items are properly labeled and organized for easy retrieval

• Learns and follows Sugar Hollow Solar procedures and industry best practices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Experience or education in electrical work, renewable energy or a related field is a plus

• A valid driver’s license required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring and solar panel components

• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills related to solar energy

• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues

• Ability to work at heights and lift heavy equipment

• Basic understanding of safety standards and protocols for electrical systems

• Familiarity with the tools and equipment used in solar panel installation and maintenance

• Basic ability to read and interpret schematics

• Strong communication skills with a customer service mindset
